Doctors

This page will help you complete the annual FMS check, which is required to ensure that all our volunteers meet the expected standards. Please see below for advice on what you need to complete.

This year's biggest change is that no places at any event will be offered to anyone who has yet to complete this annual check. It is vital that you complete this as soon as possible.

CLINICAL GRADE
Doctors fall into 3 types with FMS.

  1. Prehospital Doctors such as HEMS or Critical Care

  2. Doctors with prehospital certification such as FREC/PHTLS

  3. Doctors with no prehospital certification but having specific indemnity to work prehospitally as a Doctor

PROOF OF CLINICAL STATUS
We will need evidence of your status, which will vary depending on your employment. Acceptable forms of evidence are:

  • ID Card (Ambulance Trust, BASICS/MERIT/HEMS etc)

  • Certification (showing dates) of recognised qualification

INDEMNITY INSURANCE

Doctors with a FREC3 or equivalent are indemnified under the FMS insurance policy.

Doctors working in any other role MUST obtain and provide indemnity insurance for their role at events when requested. Failure to provide this will mean withdrawl of any places offered. â€‹

MANDATORY TRAINING
This year, we need to ask for evidence of your mandatory training. You can upload a single screenshot, or photo but it must show the course names and expiry dates. Alternatively, you can upload your certificate for each course. If you do have some or all of this mandatory training, do not worry. We will provide you free access to this so you can complete it as required. If any mandatory training expires before an event, you must forward us an updated certificate or your place will be offered to another member.
